One of the nice things about Office 2007 is that its
Ribbon can be customized for each document. In addition to it, you can attach
your ribbon customizations to a template and those customization carry over to
the documents created from those templates.
Customizing ribbon requires you to write your own XML that complies with the Ribbon specification. Information about customizing Office 2007 Ribbon is available here. The Custom UI Editor Tool is a very useful tool for adding your ribbon customizations to the templates and documents (presentations, spreadsheets, etc.). As an example, download the RemoveMaster.zip PowerPoint presentation template. It contains customizations that remove the Slide Master, Notes Master and Handout Master view buttons from the Ribbon when this template is active or any presentations created from it is active. You can view the Ribbon customizations through the Custom UI Editor Tool. |
