Matrox DualHead2Go (available in
Digital Edition
and
Analog Edition
)
is a VGA video splitter box to allow 2 displays to be connected to the
system. The way it provides this capability is to tell Windows that
there is only one monitor but with a dimension of twice the normal
monitor width. The Matrox DualHead2Go box splits the display content
across two outputs on its own. This clever technique requires only one
input but can output different content through different displays.
To show multiple slide shows simultaneously through Matrox
DualHead2Go, we will use the
TickerShow feature of
OfficeOne PowerShow.
The TickerShow feature allows multiple slide shows to be displayed
simultaneously on the same monitor. It requires a Layout presentation
that specifies the position and dimensions of the slide shows on the
monitor. For DualHead2Go's twice-width monitor, we would use the layout
presentation available
here (
layout_dualhead2go.ppt).
The layout presentation specifies two presentations Pres1.ppt and
Pres2.ppt. Each of these presentation covers different halves of the
twice-width monitor. Effectively, this makes each presentation appear
fully on a monitor.
Following are step-by-step instructions:
- Open Pres1.ppt, Pres2.ppt and
layout_dualhead2go.ppt in PowerPoint.
- Select Slide Show | Ticker Show item.
- Select the monitor 2 as it is the one that has DualHead2Go
attached to it.
- Select layout_dualhead2go.ppt in TickerShow Layout
Presentation box.
- Click Start Show button.
This will start Pres1.ppt on one monitor and Pres2.ppt on
second monitor of Matrox DualHead2Go.
